The activity aims to promote both the empowerment of teenagers and the resilience of local communities through 3 phase:
Phase 1 – Training: a highly educational and interactive course is envisaged to develop technical skills that are fundamental in today’s labour market (digital, project management, project design) and soft skills such as creativity, innovation skills, team working and multicultural competences. Training should focus in particular on design thinking methodology, which is at the base of phase 2.
Phase 2 – Contest: the youths, divided into teams, compete in a contest dedicated to the development of initiatives to improve the welfare of the communities in which they live. The ideas developed by the teams have to respond in an innovative way to the challenges identified in their community and will be presented to their peers, who will vote for the two best ones.
Phase 3 – Implementation (optional, depending on available funds): The winners of the contest will be given real money to implement the selected idea, which will be monitored by their peers. Participants whose ideas haven’t been selected will be able to support the implementation of the selected ideas in their territory or to remotely monitor the implementation of the selected ideas, acting like a Funding Agency
