In order to instil a love of books from an early age, in 2020 the Mondadori Group launched the La Lettura al centro project. Born out of the synergy between Mondadori Education and the Children’s Business Unit, the project combines the knowledge of the school world with the best children’s fiction, with the aim of putting reading at the centre of daily educational activities.
Reading at the centre is:
1) transversal and comprehensive because it is aimed at all school levels, from Primary to First and Second Grade Secondary, on the assumption that reading is a fundamental moment in the individual’s education;
2) characterised by specific initiatives, designed for each age group, in line with the interests and curiosities of the student-readers and consistent with their level of maturity;
3) concrete, because it provides teachers with didactic cues, materials and pathway proposals to bring students closer to reading, to enthuse and involve them;
4) strongly integrated into daily teaching and textbooks because it proposes a close correlation between adopted volumes and fiction.
