Friendly cities

Teenagers in 4th ESO, from the subjects of Ethics, Physics, Basque Language and, especially, in Tutoring, together with people with functional disabilities, map their environment, sharing the results in the free software OpenStreetMap, with the aim of making architectural barriers visible and putting forward proposals to improve the accessibility of the urban fabric.

  • Name of organization: The Santa María Ikastetxea School in Portugalete (Bizkaia) with the Tartanga LHII Vocational Training Centre in Erandio (Bizkaia), the Madre de Dios Ikastetxea and Deustuko Ikastola schools (both in Bilbao), FEKOOR (Coordinating Federation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Bizkaia), the IGON Association (for the social and occupational integration of people with physical and/or sensory disabilities in Bizkaia), the University of Deusto, the Portugalete City Council, the FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology), the Zerbikas Foundation (Centre for the Promotion of Solidarity Learning and Service in the Basque Country) and OpenStreetMap volunteers.
